I am learning so much about the Beatles records from your channel. I bought the Beatles #1 CD when it was released in 2001. I still have it.

Fitting, the final record is a Beatles album

The short sightedness of a lot of companies. Just think if only a fraction of those printing presses were still in operation.

I've just visited the factory that bought the presses and they're still being used today...maybe the next McCartney Archive issue will be pressed there. I can say no more!

During their height The Beatles and the Rolling Stones and the who and various other rock bands that came from England was the country‘s biggest export an industry taxis generated from The music industry pretty much kept the economy afloat straight through the 60s and 70s

This scene in the video always makes me sad because of how deep the history is, and how fitting it was for the best selling album of the 2000s to be the last record pulled from the press. But, we always have the memories and the records

And that album there around the age of 9-10 changed my life!

The same thing happened here when the pressing plants closed in the Wellington area it's been said that a lot of the machinery was scrapped-I, m glad I still have many of the LPs I bought new from the late 70s--90s and enjoy listening to them including a Beatles box-set which I especially treasure Auckland New Zealand 2023

The recording industry didn’t have to close the vinyl pressing plants when they did, and now we’re hurting for it with everyone wanting their music in traditional vinyl (or forget it). This was 100 percent pure greed for the increased income from the compact disc prices at that time. They didn’t care. Pure and simple. Remember this the next time you wonder why new albums are $40 to $50 and beyond.

Important to note that although EMI no longer exists, the factory is still going strong, under new ownership. I wish Universal had chosen them for Beatles releases, but so it goes, as Nick Lowe once sang.

Wow, I never they were still operative all through the 20th century.

How incredibly shortsighted this decision must feel now... GZ vinyl and other such companies can't press enough records!

I got my vaccinations done in that building 😂 A piece of true British history. I wish they could at least preserve part of it for future generations.

Do We Know Who Bought The Final Pressing? Does The Record Have Some Sort Of Seal Of Authenticity?
