Im confused with the pricing model, is there a pay once to get all features or do you have to have a subscription to unlock it all?

Just get the 12month subscription. It come out to 1100 or 1200 with taxes. If you buy it outright you have to pay like 1150 outright. Its basically the same thing. You can just think of the 12 month membership as a 60 dollar note and your 400 bucks was a down-payment. It has benefits to have the membership anyway. Once your 12 month term is up. The headset unlocks, and it's yours to do as you please.

Their virtualdesktop app seems to have dropped support for other VR headsets like the HTC XR Elite. They only focus on Apple's headset and their own now. Not sure how they will handle support going forward. Seems like a mixed bag.

I would never pay 1k for a phone. I'm willing to pay 400'600 for the glasses if the can be adapted to my short sightness. That's like with the ear buds everyone bought for 300 bucks. Now excellent ones can be bought for 30-50€

My primary goal is solely for work. Being able to have high-quality lecture being watched on one screen, but also if it involves metabolic pathways and different enzymes, being able to quickly glance at the pathway and steps involved

Just letting you know please do not fall for the trick. You will be spending the normal price of the headset plus that $400 so if you want the cheaper option pay full price for the entire visor.

Its $400 with membership and membership isnt cheap. 12 months at $60 a month or 24 months at $40 a month. its north of $1000 after all payments are made no matter how you do it. This kinda marketing of price is a huge turn off and gives "trust me im a techbro/nft bro" vibes.
