UPDATE 1/11/2018 In the last two weeks the cost of the Philips Hue starter kit has risen from $140 to $180. This is still a $20 savings over the price of buying four bulbs individually. I have sold two Hue bridges on eBay each for around $35. Total savings per starter kit is $55.

I was not aware that that is a "TRICK" i thought that was how it is and common knowledge and they are sold that way.
and that Phillips only made it simple by pre-pairing the bulbs for you. and NATURALLY you could add more to the set...

Home depot, best buy and Amazon will have them listed 199 one day then 139 the next. They jumped back and forth about 3 times since Christmas. Same with the light strips. $89 one week, $59 the next. So wait til you see the drop to purchase. I figured out the manual input for Google, I did not think of eBay for the bridge.
