Get rid of the judder spring and replace with a standard friction plate, add sump guard and radiator guard, upgrade suspension front and rear, change rear sprocket to 42 teeth and then you have the perfect capable reliable off road / adventure bike . £500 spent

Great insights! I was considering the new crf300 rally as a dualsport / adventure bike. That would obviously be the European version, but inthinkni may lean a little more to roadworthiness by now...
