The i7 2600K. The processor that started before this console generation, and will still be relevant when it ends....

I would say Sandy Bridge owners definitely got their money's worth! It's still competitive that's nuts!

A 6 years old chip that can still perform admirably in today's game, awesome. I bought one used, OC'ed to 4.4 Ghz and paired it with a Gtx 1060, saved a lot of money :)

I've been editing my channels 4K video with my trusty i7 2600K powered machine for over a year now. Its been editing video since 2011!

I have been running my 2600k at 1.5v 5.1ghz for over 6 years now. Keep the temps under 75c. The folks saying 1.4v will destroy your sandy bridge in 6 months are nuts.

I'm still using my launch-day i7 2600k but now have it paired with with a GTX 1070 running at 1440p with 144hz and G-Sync. I have no immediate plans to upgrade the CPU/Mobo yet, it still runs very well.

So in a nutshell the 6 year difference in performance from 2600k to 7700k is pathetic.

Steve at 7:46 you were saying how well the i7 2600k holds against the i5 7600k.This shows how little Intel improved in the last 5 years. I remember when each gen of CPU would bring 20-40% improvement over the last .

the 2600k was the last great thing that came out from intel

2600k might just get a 10 year lifespan with a good OC, pretty crazy considering the chip might just give out (die) at that point.

My 2600k was the best overclocking chip I've ever had. I couldn't let it go and I couldnt let it sit. Into the NAS it went!

My 2600K is probably the best buy I've ever done in the computer department.

This makes me feel even better about my decision to upgrade from 2500k to 2600k! Just snagged one off Ebay and should have it tomorrow or Monday.

Finally. a review I can use. I was considering upgrading from my 2600k to a Ryzen 1700. While it would be useful for content creation, it sure looks like a lateral upgrade as far as gaming is concerned (at least as it stands now). This is really making me rethink moving to Ryzen now.
