Night blooming jasmine would have been a great choice as well. They are very fast growing once established...plus smell like a tropical paradise right in your yard!

Wisteria is invasive af. So many of our trees, bushes, and plants are dying from wisteria wrapping around and sucking the life out of it. Hours of yard work every month is still not enough to keep up on it.

Awesome native choice with passionflower ❤ honeysuckle, California blackberry, and whitebark raspberry are all climbing plants that can be used for wall cover, native to southern and Central California 🙂 Wisteria is not native to North America and so really invasive here. Beautiful though! 💜

So a warning about passionflower vines, at least in my area, there's a specific type of butterfly called a Viceroy, they look similar to monarchs, that lays it's eggs on my passionflower vine annually. If you're up for sharing, they'll eat up a lot of the leaves, but never end the vine, and come back every year to the same vine so you don't even need to prune it because they do all the work ❤

Why not paint/stain fence first. It’ll last longer, especially since you’ll probably be spraying water at it?

Passionflower is a great choice. Grows really fast, easy to maintain, grows thick if you keep it pruned.

Please keep in mind how invasive plants can kill local plants.

Passion flower can take over if you’re not careful. But they’re so beautiful

QUEEN ANNE'S LACE grows super super fast and can tolerate freezing weather such as Colorado! It also has beautiful smelling flowers!

Wisteria is also poisonous to animals, especially dogs.

I recently got a passion flower vine myself to help fill in a chain link fence. Main driver for my choice was making sure I got a variety that is safe for my dog to be around. If anyone out there has pets, make sure you bear them in mind with your landscaping choices.

In Russia at countryside we often use wire and sticks to fix plants or help them grow. My mum's cucumbers are fascinating)

Maybe paint or stain fence. Great job with the trellis & plants!

Passion flower is going to grow all over your yard now too. Mine does, sends runners 20 feet away😂😂😂😂

Chicken wire is also coated, you just can't see it. However that coating can break down over time - like years.
Other farm & fencing options also work well. They are designed for that.
Check out cow panels & hog wire as well as chain link fencing.

Wisteria does not take long to grow. It is incredibly invasive and I’ve had it actually snap vinyl fencing. It is so aggressive. I know it sounds pretty but trust me. I had it for many years. It’s not.

You will love the passion flowers. I grew them at my last house and they are gorgeous! You can also eat the fruit they bare.
