As someone who wasn't Retweeted by Stephen King, I agree

King is just a master in making the reader uncomfortable because he makes you feel like you are with the character in their worst moments

Daniel Greene : " We all are just a bunch of caffeinated space apes flying through space . "
Stephen King : " Hmmm, that sounds like a good plot idea 🤔 ...."

People really think Stephen King is a bad writer? That hurts.. that hurts.

Daniel Greene is one of the best “booktubers” out there. Him and Merphy honestly. They’re fair and helpful!

Honestly this video taught me more about concrete technique that I can actually use than most youtube videos that are "about technique"

Kings primary strength is his willingness to tell the truth in his stories. Nothing is censored or sugarcoated. Nothing is changed in the story to comfort the reader; we're always getting the raw stuff straight from King's mind, and I can always trust that I'll get an honest story from him no matter what book I pick up.

I love Stephen king novels, i like the way he just doesn't use jump scares but built up the thriller and mystery

I agree with every word. He's a masterful storyteller. He is able to create worlds infused with familiar family crises and other real life incidents that are relatable. I love how it's not just about jumpscares and gory graphic horror.
Also... That retweet ¬‿¬

Misery has some of King's best prose. My personal favourite is when Paul comes back to consciousness at the beginning:

"...Paul Sheldon only wrote two kinds of books. The good ones and the bestsellers."

It does not pander and is incredibly precise. It tells you just what kinda mindset Paul has, just how arrogant and full of himself he is. One of the best character introductions, in my opinion

I think you can't judge King unless you've read at least 5 different kind of stories by him.

One of the simplest and most terrifying scenes I've read from the King (and one that perfectly encapsulates what Daniel is saying) is from Salem's Lot. The one where two men have to deliver a package in the Marsten house. I challenge you to read that shit, alone in the dark with no one at home.
