Should have bought an STI when you had the chance. Bembros, legendary transmission, LSD front and read, wing, no ugly cladding, short shifter, DCCD, better suspension, hydraulic steering, more power, subie rumble, etc.

We didn't know how good we had it.

As cool as this is, it definitely doesn't touch any of the 40k-50k range cars in competition. Aside from base models here in the north east, I don't see anyone buying these.

Had a 22 audi s3 and traded it in for a 24 sport wrx solely becuase the value proposition in Canada. The Canadian pricing is WAY better. S3 is almost 60k to start, gr corolla starts over 50k for a core, civic si is 35k and a civic type r is 56k cdn. The wrx here starts at 33k, basically 20k or more less than the other cars similar and the same price as an SI. Absolutely crazy value.

The electric blue trim is awesome. It would be amazing if the seat belts were also blue

The POV water bottle chug is priceless

from an 04 civic to a screen like that, it’s quite great to have that even with “slow” response.. aslong as it works. its great

It's very cool. But for the $$, most people will go for Golf R over this; yes, the R is losing the manual, but it's a better, more sophisticated car, the fuel economy is a +, you get ventilated seats, it's more powerful, quicker, and the hatch adds some practicality as well. Still... I do like this WRX, that purple paint is quite nice, for sure!

I have a 23 wrx and still watching this

That price point is approaching Golf R and Type R with far less performance. I'm loving where they're going with it but it needs another 50WHP to compete at that price.

The new color is nice, but Subaru really needed to bump the power to ~320 and include the sti transmission to make this worth the price tag, better options in that price range. FA24 is more than capable of that power, but the included transmission is still the weak link

It is about 10k worth of stuff (brakes are $4 - 6k, alone, and replacement recaro seats are at least 1k each), but as a package, the former STI was a far better enthusiast value.

The STI was great, but we are into the 2025 model year with the STI in the rear view mirror. The TS, for subaru enthusiasts, is an imperfect option with potential. I'm hearing good things about tuning the 2.4L powerplant. ;)

You don't need STi for more power, just a tune+exhaust+intercoooler, you will get 350hp easily.
But the much beefier 6 spd trans w/LSD and DCCD, a beefier rear diff, stronger halfshafts, and the most important one is, added chassis rigidity that can't be easily done aftermarket.

throw in the LSDs + a little power bump and BOOM STi
But the VB has been growing on me and I hope to get a base model

The Recaros in the TS are too hard for long road trips and have no adjustable lumbar support . The regular 10 way power ultra suede seats in premium and limited are tons more comfy.

Imaging paying 40k and still don’t get dccd or the Sti 6 speed

With how cheap you can get a tablet with a fast processor it blows my mind that any sort of infotainment system in 2024 especially with the cost of cars nowadays is anything less than butter smooth.

For the price, I don’t see myself buying this over other competitors that have a bit more power

The blue accents on the interior are on another level in not a good way.

Subaru, please step up. The infotainment on your your cars is garbage, you refuse to make the STI, and you went from making cool ass cars to the definition of mediocre. It only takes a few tweaks to get back in the game and have some genuinely great cars. Look at Hyundai, they did what you need to do. You have the reputation, now honour it.
