How to make mocha sauce

You can make it in under 60 seconds, use it in coffee or matcha, and use it as a topping on your ice cream? Count me in. A lot of syrup recipes require you to boil water on the stove and reduce the syrup down but this recipe can be made in one jar and with one whisk. What would you use this sauce for?

- 1/4c cocoa powder
- 1/2c sugar
- 1/2tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 1/3c hot water

You can and should store it in the fridge, preferably in a sealed container (a jar in this case). Unsealed will be good for about a week, any longer at your own risk. Sealed (but not airtight) will be good for 2-3 weeks. Again, any longer at your own risk. Airtight (for storage) is variable on where you store it. It’s still recommended to be refrigerated, and it should be good for 2-3 months or so until you open it. Frozen (in a freezer safe container) can last for around 6 months.


If this is at all inaccurate, please mention that. I’m going based off of similar products/recipes.

For anyone trying to cut back on sugar, and the more you’re into pure chocolate, you can go way less on sugar or even no sugar. I’ve been getting h an interesting cocoa sweetness with pure cacao, plain collagen powder, and lion king mushroom (although chaga would be even tastier) frothed in heavy whipping cream then added to my coffee.I bet you could add just a pinch of sugar or brown sugar and still make it super sweet and tasty. I’m a sugar addict still consuming sugar but I like cacao a lot and the more I eat it the sweeter it seems to taste to me. I hope that helps anyone and doesn’t ruin the consistency on this!

An easier way to do it is to mix condensed milk with cocoa powder until it becomes like chocolate syrup

Vanilla Bean Extract (Vanilla Paste) can be substituted for 1:1 volume of Vanilla Extract (the liquid alcohol based one). Yes, you can use imitation if you so desire. If you’re feeling fancy, for every 1 tbsp of extract you use, you can use 1 above average scraped pod. That’s 1/6th a pod for this recipe.

Weight Measurements:

(keep in mind, it won’t be exactly the same for everyone, try adjusting as you go)

30g Cocoa Powder
100g Granulated Sugar
2g Vanilla Extract/2.5g Vanilla Bean Paste
pinch of salt
80g Water

It is great, but if you can get your hands on Richeza chocolate sauce, consider it too, tastes roughly as good, but it is more viscose, so you can use it both as a syrup and as a decoration
