The argument "Oh akane is smarter cause she knew aqua was manipulating her" makes no sense to me. Yeah she is a more hard working person and her knownledge on Ai was very impressive. Aqua knew she knew he was Ai's son, that's why he put that pin cause he thought akane would be able to figure out who his dad was. Akane knew she was being manipulated and yet couldn't do a thing about it, yeah akane is the second smartest character in OnK but she has no evidence of ever coming close to Aqua, he was always one step ahead of her
