This is the same technique, minus a hook, that is used to make a chain stitch in crochet.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought, "HEY! He's crocheting!"

Thank you so very much for sharing this! I’m not a doctor but I’ve always been the person in my family to take care of everyone else. My mother had a hack doctor that almost killed her from a straight forward hernia surgery so hat led to 56 major operations!
I have no ability to learn languages so I am horrible with Latin and a lot of medical terms are from Latin. However I’m still the person that advocates for everyone else and if I can take care of it myself, I do. I’m practicing my stitching now and I came across you by accident. Or was it…
I appreciate you very much!🙏🏼❤️

I've watched several of these now. Dumb question... why so many? What's the guideline for which suture/knot for which procedures? Do they heal differently? Is it a personal preference based on who's doing the sutures? Also, what determines if stitching or stapling is preferred? Thank you for spending so much time doing these videos... they're fascinating!

I had some of these after a c section & my lord the "corner" pain I had! Nurses said sometimes that happens from those stitches being so tight. Recovery was gnarly!

This is how my great grandma taught me to tie off stitching sewing. Also, i felt the crocheting familiarity.

Its a rope chain. I prefer external loop stitches. Less chance for infection from the string. I have had stitches a few times, somehow the places never have anesthetic
