BlackVue user Femi sent us a video he caught on his BlackVue dashcam. In the video you can see a man attempting an insurance scam - he marks (vandalizes) somebody else's vehicle and waits for a passing vehicle to flag the driver and accuse them of the damage. The driver is then threatened with hit and run if they don’t resolve the issue immediately.

Femi says: "I was lucky to have remembered the man from last year, walking my dog at time, noticing the damage immediately, calling the police, and performing a citizens arrest. I had to follow the perpetrator for about 20 minutes until LAPD got involved. The suspect has been charged and was sentenced to 365 days in jail and 5 years of formal probation."

I just encountered an insurance fraud two days ago, the guy is a Malaysian Malay ( I'm Malaysian Chinese ), when we drove into a small path across a main road ( we had been inside the small path and about one or two metre away the main road ), suddenly, a motorcyclist bumped into our rear side of the car from the left in the main road. The motorcyclist clearly drove into the small path just to crash our car. The motorcyclist fell onto the ground near our car, he was injured badly during the process ( he was hospitalised later). After that my dad reported this to the police, and their response is, " Mr.Chan, u are against the law since u are driving into a small path acrossing the main road, if accident were to happen between u and the others, u are the one to be blamed". My father was forced to pay RM 200 dollar as fine. And sadly, we never installed a dash cam. After a few days, the scammer called my dad, he wants us to pay him for his 'loss', my father had no solutions but to pay him using our insurance. He also said, if there was a CCTV, they might have proof. Despite having the proof, there's a chance that the police might still help the scammer, because majority of Malaysian police are Malays. ( The same thing happened before as a Malay was judged unguilty even though he stole a phone from a Chinese. He was asked to apologize only, Idk whether the phone is returned or not)
( PS: I am not trying to be offensive against Malays)
( actually, my dad and I are trying to reduce our daily budget after my dad retired from being a businessman when he found out his business is failing we met that motherfucking insurance scammer after that 🙃)

Dear insurance scammers in the world, fuck you. 🖕

Auto paint and body man for many years here..and this video isn't anything the man did. That is a scuff from either another car or the owner driver hitting someone else. The man in the video to me looks to be scratching his leg of something.
