How to change image size for slider and posts in wordpress

I am so frustrated! I've watched dozens of videos and no one seems to have the problem I have. I've got 3 images that I am just trying to get the sizes to match for my slider, but nothing seems to work. I've tried cropping and that's gotten one of them down to where it ALMOST matches one of the others in height. WP doesn't seem to want to adjust them via scaling. And the one that is the tallest image has smaller dimensions than the ones that are shorter in height. It looks terrible when you are trying to read something farther down the page and the text keeps jumping to different locations depending on which photo is in the slider! I don't understand why this is being so difficult, when it seems so easy in all the videos.

Slideshow is bumping up the image sizes. Otherwise they display fine.

Hi I did this step but no the image is blurry and when I try to readjust it again I get a red exclamation mark. Is there a way outside of word press to reduce the size of my images?

Thanks for this! do you know what to do when the editor does not allow you to chance the sizing though? when I set my height to 800 a red exclamation pops up and it won't let you save the new size.

I've tried what you suggested and it still has not worked for me. I've resized my pictures every way I can think of, cropped them and whatever else I thought might work to get it to fit. It's very frustrating to spend hours on this and get nowhere. I have a soliloquy slider on my website. Someone installed it for me. I don't want to make default changes and mess anything up. Any suggestions?

For me, editing the size of the image itself doesn't change the slider size. Do you know where + what code I can input to change the size of the slider?

Hello - I have 3 sliders on website and I resized all of them to 800 height but the second 2 sliders are much longer then the 1st one.  How can I change that?

Hey, First of all...thanks a lot for your videos on developing a wordpress website using godaddy. With the help of that video, I was able to build my own website. However, right now I am facing an issue with image sizes in the slider. As you suggested, I have kept the length to be 800 and by default the width of my slider image came out to be1200, unlike yours. With this size it looks more like a square image in the website covering most of the first page. The image is so big that I have to scroll down twice to see the icons of "services", "support" etc.

Would you please suggest, how can I change the 'aspect ratio'' to probably 16:9 so that the width is quiet longer than the length. This way my slider image would be rectangular in shape and I would be able to see my icons on the very first opening page of my website just beneath my slider image.or at least just after a single scroll down. I think the 'aspect ratio' part is already there in the WordPress, but I am not sure how to fix that.

I have a question for you - et the gang here
I have a fashion model that has given me all her photos
The problem is using say, , Simple Lightbox or Envira

All the photos are displayed very differently
One photo is say... one is horizontal and all different sizes - while others are vertical and again all different sizes.

Trying to show-case her photos in a more professional way by displaying all her photos in a gallery and all have the same display size and shape.

When I try edit the image to the sizes you have it does not let me, the images are smaller and when I put 2100 the other side goes 3000+ and nothing happens, help please.
