One of the most beautiful releases I’ve ever seen. Wonder how his career would’ve turned out without the various injuries…

Seeing Joe Willie running option stuff out of wishbone is beyond cool.

He could run! - so different looking compared to his Jets days with his legs taped up and stiff running.

Joe was complete QB, ahead of his time. Vision, arm strength, foot speed, & toughness.

I grew up watching Joe play for the Jets at Shea Stadium. I never saw him run. This video was an eye opener. The injuries to his knees really took a toll.

Broadway Joe had some serious running ability in college. Wasn’t aware. 😮

You can't tell from this clip, but Joe had such a smooth passing motion for the early '60s. Other QBs seemed jerky and mechanical in their windup and delivery.

Night-and-day difference between Joe and his immediate predecessor, Pat Trammel (who was more herky-jerky than most). Namath was 6'2" and could dunk. That tells you what a gifted athlete he was.

Two things...
Before blowing out his knee on an option play in Raleigh, NC against the Wolfpack, Joe was a serious threat to go for yards on the ground or up top.

When asked in the late 60s who the best passer in the pro leagues was, if he could have anyone on his team, Vince Lombardi didn't hesitate.
Joe Namath is the best passer in football right now. No one is close.

High praise indeed....

Joe was a very mobile QB until
he tore his knee up at Bama. I loved watching him run that option! Great stuff! 👍🏻

Wow, unreal seeing Joe with two good wheels, man was he quick. Almost sounds like Dandy Don Meredith narrating?

Best natural QB ever. Great footwork, peripheral vision, arm, touch, release. On and on. And in college he ran like a running back.

Funny Watching Broadway Joe running the Ball.. Only if Bear Bryant would have let Him Sling that Rock more. Could've Won a couple more Championships..😎

Joe Willie Namath. Strange; back then his skill-set was lauded. He was mobile af! See that style today and act like its a new thing! If Joe had his wheels when he played NFL??...We would've had dual-threat QBs as the norm already. He was a bad man!! Still underrated...
