I noticed it said that Chevy trucks were affordable in the old commercial. Things are out of hand these days. Love that old square body.

Manual transmission, transfer case, hubs, windows, locks, and tailgate means simpler, lighter, and less stuff to malfunction. It also means less service work for the dealers and replacement part sales for the manufacturers. In other words, we'll never see vehicles manufactured like that again.

The bed of Big Green is called a fleet side not a flat side.

Chevy was getting 30+ mpg with the 6.2 diesel back in the 80s. I don't understand fuel efficiency nowadays

Best trucks ever made. If only Chevy of today would take some notes from the Chevy of yester years

I have and 1986 GMC 4x4 square body with the original 350 gas engine. Always working and still saves many lives/ pulls many cars out of the deep water during hurricanes as we just had in North Carolina/ South Carolina region. When people see this truck coming to the rescue; they feel a sense of confidence and all will be OK.

Very cool. I'm honestly kinda sad that basically all pickups nowadays are massive, hulking crew cabs with luxurious interiors and run well north of $40k. It seems the true 'work truck' has been abandoned for luxury, and I do understand most people want every possible creature comfort and gadget they can get and manufacturers are simply filling that market, but nevertheless basic pickups are few and far between.

I have a 1975 4x4 I bought in 1978 and now has 538000 trouble free miles on it and I'll still have it til i"m dead and the truck still looks new!! Absolutely the best most trustworthy truck I've ever owned, and If it could write a book It would be a best seller! From the plains of Minnesota to the Ozark mts., the california deserts to the high mountains of Idaho, and It never quit!! Now It's parked in my garage waiting for me to turn the key and take on a new adventure!! None better for almost 45 years!! Now who does that? own the same truck for almost 45 years?? I've gone through three wives, four dogs, several cats, moved three times and have finally slowed down and gotten old, but I still love to drive my truck!! Absolutely the finest truck period!!

I think Big green is the best vehicle you guys test. It has ac and fuel injection, that is all you need in a truck.

Just put a 1976 K10 back on the road after 32 years, these trucks are amazing.

I have a 1978 Chevy square body 4x4 done up like "The Fall Guy" truck...its been in the family since new...worked until 93 and was parked in a barn until 2006 when it went through a complete restoration/transformation in "The Fall Guy" truck and now has an easy life during the summer riding around looking pretty.

Great trucks!

They cant use the old commercials because full size trucks are no where near "easy on the bucks."

Its very cool. I say this being a 90s import guy. I love this style truck because you know what it is compared to today where most cars look all the same with just different badging.

At least they have the side saddles. Remember the gas tank in the cab behind the passenger seat?

Absolutely love the K10. My dad had one when I was a kid. I thought that truck was unstoppable. I looked at getting one a few years ago and was shocked at what people was asking for them missing transmissions, no engines, rusted out or just beat to hell.
