Ikea Hack - Luthier's bench

A quick video about a bench for guitar inspection based on an Ikea Forhoja kitchen unit.

Great hack, that is a handy little setup. I'm getting ready to consolidate my entire workshop so this gave me some great ideas for a few guitar work stations.

Summary:
Used an Ikea kitchen cart as the base for building a luthier's bench for guitar repairs.
Modified the cart by relocating shelves to better suit the needs, involving drilling new holes for screws and dowels.
Strengthened the structure by gluing dowels together with screws and adding cross-bracing for rigidity.
Added quarter-inch plywood and soft maple for accessories, keeping the entire project cost under $200.
Features include a drawer for tools, a shelf for a carpeted bench pad, drawers for evaluating guitar necks, sliding panels to conceal an amplifier, and an adjustable neck rest.

That is a fantastic idea! I may need to buy/build one just for changing strings and doing setups! I get sick of wrestling my guitars on a coffee table and being hunched-over the entire time.
