I listened, then I listened, then I listened! And remembered people who survived different wars. And those who didn't even when they made it to what should have home. Never let a soldier be undone.

This song has a very specific hit to it and I’ve never been able to find it in any other song

I left Iraq after only 48 days with a purple heart from a bullet through the hip and needing a cane for life. My whole family cannot hear this song without crying.

An Irish anti-war song from the mid-18th Century. About 220 years old - and it has lost not one ounce of its power.

I just moved back to the USA after 28 years. I was raised in Canada were I first heard this on a Canadian show called republic of doyle. I have relocated my self to the country of my birth and I cant stop listening to this.

Fun fact This is a song from approx 1807 during Peninsular Wars, but earliest written account of it was 1876. the must be hundreds of versions. It was even sang during the American civil war. Bruce just changed a few lyrics but he does slay it great version. When your listening to this on your iPad or phone just imagine the history behind this song. It was sang during many many wars and across many sea travels to direct conflict also by those on ships attacked by pirates. Each man on either opposite sides going to war convinced they were doing the “right thing” now lost to history. Not much has changed on the war front unfortunately

I used to listen to this song in the car with my mom all the time when I was 6, or 7. I'm 17 today and I can't be more happy to have found this song.
