Microtech UTX-70 | Overview

This is the UTX-70 Dagger from Microtech. The UTX-70 (named for being 70% smaller than their popular Ultratech model) is the most compact, high-quality OTF automatic knife on the market. The Microtech name excites fantasies of wicked edges, powerful automatic action, and amazing American designs; though the UTX-70 is small, once it's in your hand, you'll see those fantasies transform into reality.

The blade is 2.375” long and is made of Microtech’s Premium steel. Bead Blasted with a bronze Apocalyptic finish, this dagger is sharpened on both sides and ready to work!

The handle is sleek, black-anodized aluminum with the thumb slide opener on the side for automatic opening and closing. It comes with a bronze apocalyptic-finished pocked clip for secure carry.

The UTX-70 is the perfect knife to tuck away in your breast pocket for fancy events, use for everyday cutting tasks, or just open letter with—in mad style. It's fidgety, well-made, tough, razor-sharp, and ready to live up to the hype.

“…named for being 70% smaller than their popular…”

This is not correct.
The UTX-70 is 70% OF the full-size Ultratech knife, which makes it 30% smaller, not 70% smaller.
If it was 70% smaller, it would be a UTX-30 (which does not exist) and as such, unusably tiny, and thus more of an earring-sized novelty than a cutting tool.

Another way to look at it would be to start with the Ultratech at 100% of its actual size and then trim away 30% of it, leaving the remaining 70% intact, and calling the result a UTX-70.

My favorite microtech. And in my honest opinion the utx 70 is the most practical.

Still have mine from 04/2010 and it's still perfectly fine!
(had to replace the spring because of metal fatigue breaking it, and they're hard to come by if you're overseas, so beware)
