FreeStyle Libre 2

People living with diabetes in Europe will now have the choice to be alerted in real-time of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia through the FreeStyle Libre 2 system, a continuous glucose monitoring system. Abbott has secured CE Mark for our its FreeStyle Libre 2 system—the next generation of FreeStyle Libre, which safely and successfully replaces self-monitoring of blood glucose without the use of finger sticks* and now offers optional glucose alarms for patients who need them.

*A finger prick test using a blood glucose meter is required during times of rapidly changing glucose levels when interstitial fluid glucose levels may not accurately reflect blood glucose levels or if hypoglycemia or impending hypoglycemia is reported by the System or when symptoms do not match the System readings

Thankyou Abbott for this wonderful product, I have been using it from the past one year. Now I have ordered Ambrosia Blucon device so that I can able to use my Libre sensor with Blucon. I am very much excited to check my readings on my apple watch standalone with the help of Blucon device.

Until the system is connected wirelessly to the sensor, we are not talking about any Innovation. The reader should contact the sensor via Bluetooth.

Yay! Alarms are exactly what the Libre has been missing. Any idea when this comes to New Zealand?

If FreeStyle Libre 2 has been rolled out in germany in the future, what about Libre 1? Will it be countinued, and how long? I see no advantage for me to change to libre 2. Using MiaoMiao, phone ad watch works great for me. Thanks for answer.

I‘m very interested in testing the 2nd gen out in switzerland. Was involved in several diabetes device tests such as the bayer contour usb and provided good feedbacks... i really can’t wait for this thingy to become available here 🤗 (btw: any infos on switzerland launch? usually we get stuff pretty early...)

What is the size of the reader? I ask because women's clothing has few and generally small pockets.
Can you turn alarms off completely no vibration or sound?
If alarms are turned off will the device remind you to turn them back on?
Dexcom G5 alarms can't be turned off even after you acknowledge them. If you have a high or low reading the G5 alarms until your value changes. The alarm is very loud and can't be turned off. It can take 15 minutes and up for an actually change to register.

Hello, it is not clear enough if the new Libre2 sensor support BLE and will actively transmit data to the reader or phone. Could Abbot make clear statement, please?

Dear Abbot team, I see that you have updated the LibreLink iOS app in DE on April 22.
Please tell us when the UK app will be updated? When will it have the Libre 2 support? Thank you.

Just to make sure I understand correctly – it will only give an alarm if I actually scan the sensor? So the only real change is the fact that it is now communicating via Bluetooth?
So, is Abbott working on using the Bluetooth to send information directly to a smartwatch? External parties like Miaomiao and Blucon are able to do this via an attachment to the Libre sensor– why is Abbott so behind on a similar development?

@Abbott Sir! What about us who live in non-EU countries. I would like to be able to buy your sensors in Bosnia-Herzegovina. I already used them and find them very helpful, but unfortunately they are not available in my country at all. When will that change? Thank you!

Why even the 1st gen not available in India?
In other countries version 2 is released and in India v1 is not even available. Please help us Indians. We are desperately in need for a low cost cgm like this.
