Prepping for baby #2 (vlog!)

As the summer is coming to an end, Michael and I are getting ready for our lives to turn upside down (once again) and I’m in full-on nesting mode as we prepare to welcome our baby girl soon! I’m currently almost 36 weeks pregnant, and after giving birth to Milo at 37 weeks, we know this baby could arrive any day now! 🤭

In today’s vlog, I share our journey of preparing for baby #2, from spending time with family this summer to settling back into our home in the suburbs. I also talk about how different it feels to be getting ready to bring our baby girl home here in the suburbs compared to our first experience in our NYC apartment. Our lives are so different than they were when we first had Milo and I’m so excited for this new baby to join our family.

As I’ve been getting the nursery ready for our baby girl’s arrival, I’ve been revisiting my registry from Milo to make sure we have everything we need for newborn life and to remind myself of what was essential for us last time. In this video, I’m sharing my top 10 must-have products for newborns that I’m so excited to use again.

Baby bjorn mini is actually not great for hip health. The seat is too narrow. With baby number 2, I’ve been really lurking on the baby wearing subreddit and researched baby wearing a lot. People tend to suggest the Ergo Embrace for a newborn structured carrier.

I have a Didyklick 4u, which worked from when I got it from one month old (good from 8 pounds and up, though). It’s a half buckle carrier, so a buckle waistband with wrap straps. It gives a highly customizable fit for carer and baby. It’s so comfortable! The wrap straps give a really nice fit for the littlest baby and up, and distributes the weight more than traditional structured carriers. I baby wear often with my 3 month old.

There are lots of great baby wearing brands though. I hadn’t heard of any of the great baby wearing brands until I was researching it this time around.

It’s better for the baby to stay in longer and develop more, so it’s a consolation she’s staying in there! I get wanting to happen sooner, but it’s sorta like google maps…if it says 8 hours, it’ll maybeeee take 7 but plan for 8

Finally vlog, I really miss them. I just want to react to carrier - in our country certified babywearing educator do not reccoment this one, because the position of legs are wrong. In this carrier the baby is hanging and there is no C shape of the back and no M for posotion of hips.
