My Mama's Stove Top Stuffing Meatloaf:

1-1/2 lbs ground beef
1 box Savory Herb Stove Top Stuffing
2 eggs
1 medium onion, diced
1/4 cup bell pepper, diced
1 packet onion soup mix
2 TBSP ketchup
1-2 TBSP A-1 Steak sauce
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt

For glaze:

1/4 cup ketchup
1 TBSP yellow mustard
1 heaping TBSP brown sugar

*****Refer to video for instructions. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hr 15 minutes.

I use ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, dehydrated onion, black pepper, and brown sugar for my glaze.

Penguin, I added Stove Top in the 70’s to my meatloaf..To three pounds of Chuck I added about 4-5 slices of white soft bread mushed up with milk..I added sweet onion and just a tad of green pepper because it gave Tom heartburn..I glazed the top the same as you..I’m loving your hauls, cooking and loved what’s in my cupboards..Your hubby is good at finding bargains and fun stuff..Mine hates shopping but is getting better at grumbling less..He is in the store and get out..when I use to go with him, I loved to browse the aisles..

I use stovetop for chicken with ground chicken for a meatloaf and it is really tasty...I've used it in ground beef as well and very good as well...I could eat meatloaf sandwiches everyday!!! Yummy!

WE've used this recipe ever since Stove Top stuffing came out. Before we begin to bake the meatloaf we put aside a small amount of the glazing that normally goes on top of the loaf. I add a small amount to the meat mix. My meat mix is hamburger and country style sausage (1/3rd of the weight of sausage to the hamburger for that extra kick) The sausage produces a lot of fat unless you specifically look for a low fat variety, and instead of peppers, we add celery, fresh onions and minced garlic. For the glazing over the top we use ketchup, brown sugar and a dash of either Siracha sauce (Cock Sauce) or sweet chili sauce (no mustard.) I make a channel down the center of the loaf before pouring the sauce over the top. I also double up on the egg to avoid the meatloaf from crumbling whenever sausage is used. There's no end of changes you can make with meatloaf. I've not used my mother's recipe in 40 years (doing so only at family gatherings when I'm hosting.)

I found this same recipe online. But it was 3 ingredients 1 egg., stovetop, water. But l really did like it a lot.⏫⬆🔼

How did I miss THIS treasure? I am going to try this for sure! But I won't tell the Coastie it has stuffing. He hates stuffing. What a weirdo. You are right though, people use bread crumbs or crackers, and that's what stuffing is. Meatloaf was the first thing I cooked for him and over 20 years later, it still tops his list of favorites. I have tried other recipes and he will say they are okay but please go back to yours. Mine is SO basic though. Using the 9x13 pan makes so much sense and I will start doing that too. Thanks for sharing this!! xo

I just do two lbs of meat, one lean, one fatter, 2 eggs, 1 box stovetop. Mix and form and cook. I can't do much more seasoning. Ketchup topping at end and broil for five minutes to brown.
