Comparing Tesla margins now to Tesla's margins in the past as a measure of vitality is foolish. The real comparison should be margins for EVs (the future) between every EV maker. Other companies, - including BYD - would kill for Tesla margins.

If an individual buys a Cybercab with unsupervised FSD, then why couldn't the owner just tell it where to go and what to do using the touch screen, a phone app and voice?
It wouldn't have to be on the taxi grid network for personal use. Of course it could still switch to the grid as desired.
