Thanks for the video. I will say, the 'blank' characters is true to the source video game. I was super excited for this when it was announced as the video game is fun, and in theory it translates well, but the more videos I watch the more I worry every play will have the same base building flow, and the same harvest/craft flow. Might have to hold out and see if they announce anything during funding that seems to shake up the formula at all.

That said, great video as always, thanks Mike!

I had imagined a game exactly like this! I love Paleo, but I often wished there was actually moving around with your party and do real fighting instead of just flipping the according cards. But this game looks exactly like my idea. Paleo + Dungeon Crawling!

I believe each time you do 4 or more damage you ignore the piercing effect, thank you for the amazing gameplay I am going to late pledge this fun game and hopefully we see another video from you playing Valheim

Thanks for showing us this game :) I'm not sure what to think of it. In the computer game, the different areas are gated through items, wich are mostly aquired by bosses. So you cant go for bronze in the dark forest whithout a certain amount of exploring in the light woodland first. In the board game, it looks like you can (and should) skip the simple gear and go directly for bronze and i think this makes a lot of the game and progression obsolete which is a shame. Yes, the monsters are more difficult in the dark forest, but you get more difficult enemies via event cards anyway. I hope they change this part of the game.

There is def some game here but it obviously needs much more development. I don't know how to describe it but it feels like it plays a bit too fast progression-wise? Maybe because this scenario is about the elder and so the plains aren't really important.

I think it would be much better for this game if we could randomize the map and progress through the bosses with a save system and have these one-off scenarios as a secondary focus of the game development

Rather interesting so far. I really like the fast combat. Over the years, I find myself not wanting to get bogged down in combat mechanics like Gloomhaven. I also like the limited use of cards, as it seems to make controlling multiple characters easier. Enemy "facing" just doesn't work well with standees. I learned that with Oathsworn. Even though their standees had a front and a back, it still didn't work well. But my real concern is: is there any story here? A sufficient reason to be doing what you're doing? Just reading the scenario 2 page at the end, there's hardly anything there at all. Just, here's the map, go get 'em. And that wouldn't be enough for me. You mentioned the "samey"ness, and that really comes out if there's not much story to be had.

Would be neat if it had a story and leveling up went a bit slower. It seemed your characters got pretty powerful pretty fast.
Oh yeah, and I want to be a Viking Wizard. Errrr.... did Vikings have wizards? He He

Curious if they changed the mechanics. I watched the creator "how to play" and they played that explore was an action you had to take to reveal tiles. Then for another action you could move among already revealed tiles. Did this change, or are the rules unclear?

The rules do not seem fully developed. Boss fight itself seemed underdeveloped. No rules published is always frustrating. Looks beautiful, but very meh gameplay. Too much to do but nothing seems very deep.

Don't mind the game being lighter but man... I do have some concerns regarding replay value. Only 4 scenarios is not much. Due to the game being lighter i feel that the scenarious ain't that deep. You play it twice and after that you basically see everything, you know what to expect from the map layout, events and boss. I would have justified it with more bosses tho 😁😁. Or 3 different scenarious per boss😃.

Do you feel like this is worth it having no knowledge of the video game this is based on? This looks fun, but the theme doesn't interest me as much.
