My favorite color is pink, so it probably comes as no surprise that I'm absolutely in love with rose-colored garden cosmos. I want my plants bushy with lots of flowers. That's why I use this special method to grow my flowers: Pinching cosmos. Check out the video to learn more!

Other summer flowers you can pinch:
Cosmos
Verbena bonariensis
Aster
Zinnia
Sweet pea
Cornflower
Dahlia
Lavatera trimestris
Xerochrysum bracteatum

I like snipping a tall shoot and then snipping it a couple more times. Then you can plant them all in the soil and you now have more plants, all from one single cutting from the main plant.

Love how you propagate your cutting also! Many beginners dont know to do that ❤

Tip: cosmos roots easily from cuttings, so you can put that top part in soil and it wll root in a week.

I have grown those in the past and they were almost as tall as me. Now I know this method and will put it to use. Thx Sara!

I tried it first time this year. Such a beautiful flower. But I didn't know that I have to pinch it. Never worked in the garden before this spring. And so I have one very tall flower. But the flower works so hard. Vor this hight there a lot of blossoms. I love her and next year I will pinch it.
By the way. This morning I watched a Youtube video in my language german but I did not understand really what this man meant. You explained it in english and it was so easy to understand what you mean. Thank you

Your videos are wonderfully informative. So glad I found you. You make me want to move to Sweden and have my own lovely cottage by the sea with gardens like yours and Ninnie’s. At age 82 that’s unlikely, but dreaming is nice too. Be well. Namaste 🙏

Thank you for the information. I’ve been growing cosmos for some years now and never knew you could pinch out the tops. I’ve always had a lot of flowers and they last for a long time but get very top heavy. I will certainly be pinching out the tops.

Great tip, Sara. I love cosmos. I grew them once. They were huge and beautiful all summer. I can't garden much these days. I still get joy from watching others do it. Do you have a new channel now?
