I have never taken the slightest interest in shipping until I saw your reports on the Evergiven event. Thanks to your program I now understand that shipping is the blood in the veigns of international commerce. It provides an excellent measure of the state of world economies. For investors this is well worth watching. Coincidentally, my cousin was a shipping broker who once commented that if you want to know whether a nation is preparing for war just look at their shipping activity.

Excellent ! Thanks for the education. Have you seen anything about the effort on the Nicaragua canal? I guess they ran into trouble, but there’s an example of securing your shipping resources. It’s not easy being the manufacturer to the world.

Another top notch news digest. Thanks, Sal. BTW, you have previously mentioned the opening up of a northern (Arctic) route. I can tell you about the risks that presents for steel hulls. It goes back to the Liberty ships.

Great educational points on bulk shipping. On your lead story on new container ship builds, you have to wonder about port capacity to buildout rest of the logistics chain. Second tier ports will certainly benefit if congestion at major ports continue into future.

Who in the US government would be responsible for bringing all entities to the table?

Sal again thanks for this video. I was wondering what was going with Bulk Freight shipping worldwide. Many may think about the Container Ships, the Tankers, and then there is Bulk shipping that ships many products around the world.

Your reports are so interesting; they came up in the suggestions because we watch the Great Lakes freighters, mostly on the the St. Clair river, the Soo locks and Duluth/Superior, but some "salties" show up at times, and it's cool to hear from your point of view. Cheers!

Fantastic channel, Sal! I’m an aficionado (and also a colleague as I’m an applied linguistics professor at U of Quebec). Definitely not in the right… faculty! You’re just a great teacher, mate! So… jealous of you! 🤪🤟🏽

Sal thanks for educating all of us in all things shipping. Will you be doing an update on this topic soon, i.e., How full is China's 100 million ton coal stocking getting to date? Are any countries using the naughty or nice diplomacy on China and holding back coal shipments?

My state would love to sell coal to anyone. Wyoming has some of the best low sulfur coal in the world. We are hurting because of all the green energy stuff. Two coal mines in my area shutdown. Put some scrubbers on the engines using coal and its fine. Coal is cheaper to make electricity. Thanks Sal!

Can container ship lines enter the bulk trade by filling empty containers w/bulk grain or ore instead of simply shipping empty containers back to China? Would that be a practical way for container lines to profit off the bulk trade or are there logistic issues that would preclude that?

Thank you, Sal. I’ve learned so much from you.

Yay mining!
I tend to handle ores and concentrates rather than coal!

Iron ore comes from Western Australia and coal comes from Queensland and New South Wales!
