You’re not supposed to eat raw, that’s why tongue went numb. If you use raw to make salsa it makes it more mild so that might not happen. Try cooked in salsa, I think you’ll love. Add extra salt cause can be bitter.

tomatillos are meant to be cooked, if you eat to many of them raw you will definitely mess up your stomach. they're usually used for green salsas

That " some sort of leaf" aka husk, is actually poisonous. That's why when you remove the husk it's all sticky.
