Bar Clamps Build Part 2 Heavy Duty Made From Aluminum And Stainless Steel | by Tiger Carpenter

In this 2nd part of the heavy duty high precision bar clamps build, I added the stainless steel bolt, which is threaded into the moving jaw.
The purpose of this element is to prevent the moving jaw wall, which is made from the aluminium angle, from getting worn out by the clamping pressure and rotation of the stainless steel threaded rod / bolt.
With this 'hack' solution in place, these bar clamps are now officially heavy duty, as all the moving elements that carry the clamping pressure, are all made from the stainless steel components. The stainless steel threaded rod will be no longer digging into the aluminium wall of the moving jaw.

At Tiger Carpenter, I use both hand tools as well as power tools to make furniture and wood working jigs.
I put a lot of thought into the design and optimization of the furniture and jigs I make. I like to come up with the improvements of the tools or jigs that are already out there, and share my ideas or findings with the community so that we all can benefit from the new upgraded versions or iterations of each invention.
I also implement the principle of aiming for perfection, even though I make a lot or mistakes and errors like all humans do. I learn from the mistakes I made, and I raise the bar for every next project.

That mechanism is mind blowing. How these two aluminum angles fit into each other and slide underneath.
Yet another unseen way of brilliant engineering

That's just funny when someone can even think that something made from Aluminum can be heavy duty...
