I had excact the same dillema as you. It was de V4S or the S1krr m package. I have seen every review/comparison on youtube.
At that point i was sure i would go for the bmw. Until i test drove the 2 bikes. Drove the bmw first, great bike but was not excited for me. 2mins o the ducati and i knew this was gonna be the one. Bike will arrive on saturday. Gonna freaking happy to ride this beast.

Love the bike man, the Euro sport bikes are killing it right now. We need the Japanese brands to step it up on innovation. The GSXRs used to be amazing right out of the dealer floor. They haven’t kept up. They’re all still great bikes, but the Euro bikes are typically far ahead on specs. And they’re just more refined when riding.

I’m in the market for another sport bike, so I’m looking at all of the liter bikes. Not sure which way I’ll go. The S1000RR and Panigales are really nice and loaded with the latest tech. I wish the Ducatis had cruise control though. My favorite so far has been the Aprilia RSV4. That bike is amazing. But I hear so many horror stories. I might end up going that route yet…of course the GSXRs and R1s are in the mix as well. I liked the Panigale V2 quite a bit as well…who knows, sweet bike you got though!

I also love my V4S. Being the same age as yourself I was a bit worried about the riding position. It ends up that the sport bike riding position is actually much less stressful on my back than sitting straight up on a Harley. I think leaning over the tank takes a lot of stress off of your lower back.

I have a 2016 Victory Hammer, I have a few upgrades, and I love it. I'm currently sitting at 123hp and 135flb-ft (and thats on a Mustang Dyno, so to compare to a dynojet I would need to add another 10-20% in power to compare to 99% of most Dyno numbers. So it would be between 135.3hp to 147.6hp and 148.5lb-ft to163lb-ft ) with just an exhaust, intake, and a power commander V. It's sad that Victory went out of business, It's American-made and built bike and a sister company to Indian Motorcycles. It's dead sexy, fast, and comfortable!!!! I do have 5" forward controls, a new seat, and a few extras. I highly recommend checking out any Victory. They don't have any crotch rockets but some amazing muscle bikes and cruisers. They have some of the most sexy, reliable, and strong muscle/Cruiser bikes. Too bad people picked the way more unreliable and even more ugly Harley over the Victory lineup. I grew up riding dirt bikes, starting at 3yrs old and I have been riding till now 38yrs old. The military took theirs so I haven't ridden any off-road in a little more than a decade but I never stopped riding motorcycles. I really want a Panigale V4S to satisfy my 500 2-stroke dirt bike memories of power, but I want it just on the street now. I never can get enough power. I'm planning on installing a supercharger and big bore kit on my Victory Hammer to get at least 220 hp and lb-ft. Should be fun!

if you're interested in a fast bike which is also comfortable you should try (or at least take a look at) the Ducati Multistrada V4, it's not a sports bike for sure, but that's a compromise you need to make if you wanna stay comfy

For me Ducati V4 would be the perfect bike that has it all but the God damn heat is absolutely something ridiculous with the Ducati, those who didn’t test ride the bike will never know how bad the heat is.

Great video. No matter how good any sports bike is, when you open that garage door and see a panigales evil face looking back, surely that feeling is worth something.

I'm looking at getting a v4s myself. The UK roads are so bad though I'm not sure the sport bike ergos would kill me.

Did you test ride or consider a street fighter v4s?

How is the heat in city during 90 F weather? Is it unbearable?

I’m 51 and narrowing it down between the V4, S1000RR and R1’. Looks wises Ducati hands down. The complaints about heat have me spooked though. The S1000RR has the creature comforts and longer warranty but the lack of a lower faring makes it look like a semi naked bike. R1 is beautiful as well.. if it came in Red it would prolly pull me in but I hear it runs hot as well. SMH.

Steve, I’m new to the channel. Very honest review, one question re the V4S I am 6.2 so is the r bike Tony enough for a tall rider. I am not to concerned about getting under the screen but just don’t want to be feeling broken wrists if you get my drift. So jealous of your weather too….
