Ni no Kuni, Diablo Immortal... proof that a good game can be ruined by greed.

As a Ni No Kuni fan, this game cuts deep. Cross worlds looks like everything a fan would want in a sequel. On the surface. I can only hope Level5 has minimal contributions to the making of this game. It is very clear to me that Net Marble wanted a Genshin Impact of their own and they were willing to shit all over the Ni no Kuni license and their partners. Not going to say anything good about Genshin Impact's Gacha buisness practices, but were it does get a pass is that GI forces you to _play and interact in the game_ and rewards you for exploration, and the developers do balence the game for it to be enjoyable for FTP players. Net Marble has become so engrossed with their mobile game predatory practices, its come full circle and created a game that plays itself. As of writing this, I am happy to say the Google star rating for Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds is at a resounding 1.7*.

I quit this game around 2 weeks ago, before the botting and server queue fiasco happened. Their blockchain and NFT elements disgusted me, and finding out about Territe only being in the global version was the last straw. Thankfully, I didn't spend a penny on the game; I only gave it my time, so I consider myself lucky. I'll never play another Netmarble game - they sound absolutely cancerous.

netmarble is professional in making awesome looking games with potential but with the worst p2w schemes introduced to men...

This just screams scam. Why as a company would they spend time working on a "feature" that lets people skip in line, unless they knew that they'd be able to sell it. They knew bots/server size would be a problem and instead of doing what's right for the consumer they did what's right for their wallet. Shame.

Thank you for this video and bringing this to our attention. I have just uninstalled the game. I do not want to wait in queues for a mobile game. (Especially due to bots.) Love your videos! :)

As I commented in the video on the other channel, this makes me soooo glad I quit the game weeks ago. It's a real tragedy for the game to be treated like this for the global market. The Japanese version has none of the Territe and P2E and I've heard it was a pretty good game. They got greedy for the global version and they've completely ruined it.

The territe system and NFTs suck. this limits you a lot in all the functions of the game. Making you get stuck in the game for days and days waiting for the daily reset. You need Territa to upload equipment, upload family members etc. taking into account that the territa is not easy to get unless you pay since it goes without saying that the game is p2w. Unbalanced PVP due to poor matchmaking function etc. The game should never have become NFT but here we go with the ambitious companies.. people are not even making money in the game, rather they are spending more than they earn. It's really a shame, the Korean version was much better and didn't really limit the f2p player from moving forward. Before the update people could get 4 star eggs netmarble found out about this and now even 3 stars is impossible. it's a shame really.

Lost Ark is in a pretty similar situation at the moment! Players are getting stuck in massive queues because of the insane numbers of bots that are overwhelming the servers! It's been plagueing the game for quite a while now

Anyone else worried because Solo leveling is going to be made by Netmarble too

Games are mainstream now. Which means that lots of companies who want to make money (not necessarily games) see that developing games will make them money. Nothing in it has to do with making a decent game, just one that will net them cash flow. Games that are simply designed to be enjoyable have turned into a mashwork of psychologically manipulative processes to glue people into the game for longer periods, which nets a greater cash flow. Seriously, I think that if most the AAA companies could make more money by selling widgets, they would be doing so. Once you make that comparison, the financial models they are deploying become very obvious, and understandable, even if not acceptable.

Gamers used to be a clique of people who enjoyed something out of the mainstream. Now games are an integral part of the social media landscape. They're mainstream. And there's lots of money there, which attracts money hounds, not necessarily gamers. It's sad. I don't think that gaming can win it's way back from this now that the vampires have gotten their teeth in it. I just hope that the indie companies can hold onto what gaming originally was.

I used to look for games with high player count, because that used to be an indication it was a good game. Now, I try to avoid high count games simply because it's more indicative of it's predatory design, developed by people who simply want money. I used to look at a game just as a game, and some companies just had a good reputation. Now I have to watch the company as well, and the direction the company is heading with their games, particularly in the financial models, since that area is so muddy these days. It's sad that I now have to analyze a companies development and management, rather then just trust that it's gamers that are making these games, but it's what we have now.

It's a real shame when a whole game is made only to be ruined because the greedy (likely) higher ups want to stuff it with MTXs, blockchain, and whatever other garbage.

This is really a beautiful game visually that clearly had a lot of effort put into it, but it can't even be enjoyed.

i know netmarble is greedy but i never thought they would become more greedy kinda sad most of their games have potential to be great but they just threw it all away..

This queue business is reminding me of the first ArcheAge launch. F2p queue was atrocious, so they introduced a premium queue, which also ended up being atrocious. The bots were a serious issue too.

🌸😼I may not be a free player but I shall not spend a dime more on this title and feel you are owed an apology (given my earlier defense of Ni No Kuni.

I was blinded by the honeymoon period and you called the game quite correctly for what it would be under Netmarble.😼🌸

Sad part is it's really only the global version. So much of the BS isn't even on the Asia servers its ridiculous. They completely screwed us

i somewhat felt that there was something off about this game, as there were already a lot of game with the same genre. turns out that the "bad" thing really happened.

I've not had any queue issues since starting the game. It has been dwindling to begin with the moment I noticed the disgusting amount of packages and tabs on the shop. Most packages are useless and others would've been worth the price tag if bundled together.

Idk what they're thinking

I have been playing since launched and I have never had any issues with login queues. I play every single day. It is discouraging indeed that it has such a high paywall since every now and then I get “special offer bundle” giving me 4 stars items to rise my cp. I have enjoyed the game so far and guess when it happens that I can no longer progress I will get rid of it. As of right now enjoying it. Almost getting to 300k cp f2p. I guess the queue is only in specific servers
