I have a 718 Cayman S. It’s really good in terms of handling. I changed it from my previous 911 997.1 Carrera S which was more raucous and analogue. Prior to that I had a BMW M2 which is more of a hoot and an occasion for the daily commute, because it breaks traction easily in slightly damp conditions. All manual gearboxes. I’m always looking and contemplating a GT4. Id miss the Blind Spot detection for dailying it, but I’d also be keen for the Burmester sound system which isn’t available on the GT4. I went to spec on around a year ago, and that was the week they pulled it from production which was annoying. By the way, crayon is a great color for a GT4.

For the money they are the best car around

4 liter 718s are the best drivers cars Porsche makes today and some of the best of all time. They are the right size, the right weight, perfectly balanced, the right amount of power. 992s are just so big with too many screens and too much between the driver and the road. Incredible cars, no doubt, but huge and complex.

Gears in the 718 could be shorter, yes…if you are looking for something to critique. But I don’t hear people complaint about the hearing of the 997 GT3, which also goes 80+ MPH in 2nd.
