Super Massive Mega Comic Book Haul!

The conventions have come and gone, and in this video, we talk about (and show) all the comics that Cereal At Midnight has picked up over the last month or two! This haul video includes comics purchased at In two separate comic cons, plus additional trades and hardcovers that we've bought here and there, as well. As the title indicates, this is a HUGE video! That is a great Haul! The essentials Godzilla was a great find! The Nth Man is great I only have the first 4 issues. I really enjoyed seeing all the Avengers, and Thor books from the 80s - 90s. Like you I collected Spider-man and X-men so I don't really have any of the other Marvel titles from that era, even the ads on the backs of the comics bring me back. The Android Human Torch Cover of WE Avengers by Byrne is one of my favorites. I agree Sunday is the time to get deals at a con. Usually that's the day I go, generally not for the deals but it tends to be a bit less crazy. Enjoy the reading (whenever you can find the time).

my fave of the Avengers west coast has to be issue 50 with the original android human torch from the 40's popping out of the grave on the cover and the issues around it ... awesome John Byrne run!!

That was always my issue with the Essential (or Showcase at DC) collections was that they were black and white...I wish they would update those collections into colour, then they would be an absolute ‘must have’ for me. Love this long form haul video...you can never go wrong with a deep dive into collectables! 👍🏼

Great haul! My local comic shop closed in 2001, and I hate digital, so I haven't read a comic in 18 years. Watching your video made me want to get back into reading them again.

awesome used to own the Marvel's Godzilla book many years ago, but I don't anymore. saw some stuff you bought I have too, got the wonder woman and the Justice league. I'm been getting back to comics too just getting paperbacks and hardcovers haven't bought any new paper trades since 2009 during the Geoff Jahns BLACKEST NIGHT up to 2011 when DC launch the new 52s. sucks last October my local comicbook shop close. heard that they aren't selling much, I tell some workers trying check out some comics on Marvel or DC BUT, only hear "Nah Rather watch the movies" instead they only knew the characters in the Marvel and Dc Films. remember growing up in the 90s my information just watching cartoons and videogames.

Looks like a sweet haul to me. I paid full cover price for a lot of those in the way back. I noticed at my local comic shop that the focus is on Magic cards and such. Barely any interest in the comics. My slim purchases won't keep the store afloat though. I'm generally only interested in the cheap older issues. I occasionally flip through the newer comics but I cannot get into them...and price wise...forget about it. As you noted it can take you some time to get through an older comic. I prefer that.

Physical for me too. They can't put out those Epic Collections fast enough. I'd rather have individual Bronze Age books, but yeah, they take up too much room (and the cost for some of them), so I'll keep getting the Epics.

Who says the hobby is dying?! I myself only got serious about comic book collecting this year and I'm about to finish my first short box either that or buy a short box just for my graphic novels or TPB's because they take up considerably more space than regular books. On the whole I have about 80-90 odd regular books in my box, and 12-15 TPB's and then I have some less valuable or what I call "surplus" books sitting in my basement. In my honest opinion while I've loved collecting individual issues I've found myself getting back into the TPB's or other collected works and so far I've been reading a lot of Deadpool, some X-Men, some X-Force, and Cable. I still want to get my hands on the rest of the 2008 Cable 2nd Series Volumes 2-4 and Spider-Man: The Birth Of Venom, which includes Secret Wars #8, ASM #252, and ASM #300. And just last weekend I totally watched an old work friend of mine pick up an original copy of ASM #252 for $65 at a con. Not a bad deal for what looked like a grade 7.0 or 7.5 however I'm content with my facsimile copy that I picked up 3 weeks ago not to mention also my facsimile New Mutants #98 though I do have a 2nd printing of NM #87, the first appearance of Cable. What I'm really trying to say or what I'm really trying to get at is that I'm not a collector doing it for the money necessarily. I have a few valuable books mostly modern stuff and a few older books but I'm mostly in it for the love of the hobby. My favorites are Deadpool, Cable, X-Men, X-Force, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Iron Man, though I don't really have too many Iron Man books, though there is supposed to be a new book in the works in October rebooting the continuity. Tony Stark: Iron Man. ;-)
