The first is a magnetic drain plug keeper (prevents the plug from dropping in the oil collection pan
The second homemade tool is a simple hook and handle that makes removing the transmission dipstick easier.

I do a lot of DIY projects and check YouTube for tips. This video is one of the best I’ve seen. Well planned, step by step, and cool tips. All without any BS intro music etc. I wish they were all like this. Thank you!

Bob: You are a superb mechanic, and a man after my father’s and my own hearts. You’re very thorough in your preparation and layout for your tutorial as well. You’re an excellent teacher. Most ingenious the design of the special hook tool for pulling the oil filler plug. I would have mangled my hands and fingers trying to do that. Instead, I’m going out to my shop tight now and fabricate my own quick-pull hook. And the magnetic cable link for your drain plug. Brilliant! And simple. Thanks. Regard, David in Wasilla, Alaska

Thank you for this video. This was very helpful and a great supplement to the shop manual, especially the part on how to remove the strainer with channel locks.

Thanks for the video--very helpful. The video is helpful to visualize the volume of the transmission fluid without looking up the actual volume. I like that you fabricate cool tools to help get the job done. That plug puller is great so you don't rap your knuckles. Great job!

I use duct tape rolled around my fingers backwards ( sticky side out ) to clean strainers, like using a lint roller for clothes, takes everything off and no chance of forcing anything to the inside of strainer, its very soothing also lol

I was surprised you didn't prime the filter? The tractor reflects your excellent care.
