Ostriches love to dance for fun. They do this for exercise and to sharpen their defensive skills for survival. The chicks need to be comfortable with their environment to dance and it's so much fun watching them.

I'm raising two ostrich chicks as pets, along with two emu chicks. All four are in the house right now to keep them safe and warm. The ostrich are about eight weeks old and the emu are two weeks. They'll be moved outside once they're sturdy enough to withstand the outdoors. For more information on them check out my ostrich vlog under video responses.

They're the biggest bird on the planet, but they have to start somewhere. These tiny adorable chicks will grow up to be up to 9 feet tall and weigh 350 pounds. With spots and stripes and porcupine like backs they don't look much like the adults they become, but who can complain? Their too cute for words.

They hail from Africa and can tolerate a wide range of temperatures, including extreme heat. Because they're from the desert ostriches are okay with losing up to 25% of their body weight to dehydration before becoming ill. In fact, their Latin name is Struthio camelus, after the camel. Ostriches do not bury their head in the sand, instead when threatened they run- up to 45 miles per hour. Failing that they deliver a powerful forward kick that can easily kill a lion.

I absolutely love the fact that you have baby ostriches and baby emus just running around your house being silly. Also, baby emu’s are large enough, and yet the baby ostriches make them look tiny. Lol

what amazes baby birds running around on a white carpet! Not a single poop!

looking at them makes it pretty easy to imagine lil baby dinosaurs playing around and it's ADORABLE.

xD The way they dash around in spontaneous bursts makes them appear so clumsy, especially with those small wings, but they look like they're having *so* much fun!

My first thought was: "Aww... they're so cute."

Then I realized that they sounded like velociraptor's.
