I've been imagining a dark ride based on this known as Gravity Falls: Weirdmageddon Adventures, a Disney attraction located in Frontierland at Disneyland. The ride would begin with this scene.

I always love that Blendin's "Unless you're ready to leave Gravity Falls...?" switches from Blendin's usual anxious nature to Bill's more conniving and confident speech pattern. He twists the knife a little further for Mabel whilst also giving a split second advanced warning that this is NOT Blendin. Not really. Justin Roiland did just such a good job with this scene, even if he didn't get to say very much. He was playing Bill pretending to be someone else and doing a damn good job at it, and suddenly Bill getting away with possessing Dipper in Sock Opera makes sense; He's actually *super* good at blending in, he just has moments like this where he slips. We just happened to see all of those in Sock Opera!

Here after the Book of Bill's revelation about Dipper and Mabel's parents sending them to Gravity Falls to avoid their parents' fighting recontextualizes not only this scene but the entire series.

I like how they showed Blendin sweating when Mabel showed him the rift. Chubby people are known to start sweating when they get a little *too* excited 😂

imagine going about your day to day life when suddenly the sky goes red, and a 200 mile long rift opens up in the sky above you. yeah it's scary to know what's happening, but the greatest fear is the unknown
