Hi, I have been the resposible engineer for the Carbon exterior, also the rear wing. One tip for assembly, we distroyed a lot of wings due to unsynchronised hydrolic cylinders. Use a steel bar for adjusting not the wing. The had one mechanic in the shop who was living in the workshop and was the specialist for separating rear end from momoquoc. He is Retired now, I will send him the link, probably you can ask him questions but I am not sure whether he speaks english because he came from polland

What a project. As a mechanic myself you have got to have some big balls to take on a job like that. Massive respect. Also what a great respect to be able to modify it at the same time because it has a dodgy history anyway and make it one bad arse bug.

The coating in the ecu is called humiseal. It's a polyurethane coating, we use it in aerospace. Good stuff. Makes re work much harder but when a board is worth 50k plus. Worth the protection and effort to repair.

I actually think being a pro Bugatti mechanic at main dealer would be a great job. They are hardly going to nickel and dime every job. Their workshop practices will be next level and I imagine they put a team of 2 or 3 guys on each car with a couple of management / parts guys hovering over the work. I think the main PITA would be the paperwork I expect they have to record a lot of information when they go into a big tear down.

It relatively easy to take apart almost anything but putting it back together and the correct way with nothing loose or leaking etc this is the hardest part and I don’t wish for me to do it even though I’m a European car technician.

I like the Veyron content, just not so much a fan of the docuseries format you're going with. When it cuts to Houston in the dark interview setting it's kind of depressing. Hearing him talk is like I'm watching a survivor of some mass tragedy recounting their experience.

I find it amazing that Houston owns several Bugatti's and they wouldn't help him with this build, but when they were opening up a new store, they asked Houston to loan them so, e cars and wanted them for basically free and Houston was like 'Nah spent so much money because of you all, you are paying a few ten thousands for the cars!' No, clue if they actually paid him, but the nerds at Bugatti needed to get their act together. Mate Rimac is supposedly friendly with so many automotive YouTubers, I'm shocked he didn't want to help out more.
