I click on the gumroad link thinking the course was like 120 dollars or something, it's only 15. Zapata is not only a blessing for the mind but a blessing for the wallet.

This is literally how I teach my drawing classes. I have never seen anyone else explain it this way also. Well done.

I've only seen the two first parts of the tutorial (and this free chapter) for the moment, and even if it's not the first tutorial on shading I've seen, it's already worth it! Thanks a lot for this :)

Woah. I used to love to draw like this. At some point, I convinced myself detailed drawing wasn’t for me. The problem, I see now, was lack of detailed instruction. The results I received from this instructional make me love graphite drawing again. I will surely check out the whole series. Thanks Zapata Art!

I was a tattoo artist and hatching is how I achieved shading. I would use a mag needle (has its needles in straight lines and the amount of needles would depend on how large the shadow was). It created great graduations when used with different pressures. There were different inks (gray scales and black ink) that created realistic shadows. The depth of shadow was created from pressure used with the needles or motion of the hand (flicking the gun). Sorry.. just reminded me of tattooing. I miss it, but I can’t do them anymore due to arthritis. 😢 wish I could though. Nothing better than seeing my finished tattoos and the look of satisfaction on my clients.

'Back and forth with this stuff' really sums it up

You explain things really well. Most of the time I find this type of video very blah blah with too many expert words. Thank you for keeping it real.

I appreciate your dedication to the minutia of the process. Drawing as a continually mindful process is so important. Drawing is all about mindful attention, and you have balancwd this with an obvious joy and satisfaction.
