you can get to the pully by just removing the lower front access panel
no need to take the drum out

We hope it works out for you. We suggest checking the drum slides and rollers while you're in there to make sure they're in ok condition.

For the past few days, my Maytag Epic-Z has been progressively squealing louder and louder. This is what I suspect it is. I tried to isolate the noise and this is where it seems to be coming from. I'm getting the part first thing in the morning and doing the repair.
Thanks for posting this video...much appreciated.

Following this proceedure probably saved me around $150 in calling a repairman. I was looking at a possible problem elsewhere in the dryer & discovered I had a an idler pulley malfunction. I replaced the drive belt @ the same time w/the idler pulley assembly--total cost $30!

This is crazy.  Much quicker way to do this is to remove the back panel.  You can have the back panel and top panel off in about 5 min.  The tensioner is easily accessible from the bottom back.  You don't have to pull the drum.

This showed an arm replacement only, what could go wrong with that metal arm?

what is the size of that bolt? I am missing that piece

why you took all that apart to replace the idler pulley? you could have just taken the back panel off and left everything else alone. that was a lot of extra steps for no reason at all ??

I have done this replacement and this video overcomplicates it to a ridiculous degree. It's like removing your car engine to work on the carburetor. Go find another video that shows you how to do this by simply removing the rear panel of the dryer.
