Ross you completely forget how much harder these are to pull in English. Paradox rift has 34 irs and you get 3 per box. In Japanese you can get 3 booster boxes for the price of 1 English booster box, and you STILL get 3 irs out of the 12 irs in thst box. It’s simple math…………

Arguing price based on it being playable is useless. Those irs are so hard to pull

I pulled that Eevee from my Twilight Maserade ETB, and it wasn't worth close to $55 by that time. It's actually been climbing. I was shocked to see that it has been climbing.

None of these cards are really playable, so its more about the artwork and popularity. Also, some of these IRs are Just as hard to pull as the SIRs. Take paldea evolved for example, you get one or sometimes even 2 SIRs per box, but there are only 15 of them. Compared to 3 IR per box, but there are 36 of them, so pulling the specific IR you want is just as difficult as the SIRs despite it being a less rarity. TCG player pull rate chart has it both at 1/480 for pulling a specific IR or SIR.

Hey pal, so with regards to the paldea cards. I understand why they are that price. I have opened 100s of sleeved packs and haven't hit any of the 3. I think pull rate has a big influence on the prices along with nastalgia. I realy need the fish but I can't justify the price of it to buy it out rite, so I try my luck on the cheapest option on sleeved boosters. Which I probably spent double than what the fish is worth lol.

My kid was lucky to hit the Magikarp last weekend in their first pack of a booster box of Paldea Evolved. It really is a beautiful card when you look at it in person.

I pulled the Margikarp on release day from a booster box and I remember thinking it was a stunning card, never ever thought it would get to this price. Time to get it graded

Bought the magikarp right out of the pack from a local farmers market vendor right when it first came out for like $25. Easily one of my best buys as a collector 👏🏻

IRs in Japan are easier to pull by far. Paradox rift and paldea evolved had like 36 IRs each with only 3 per booster box. You'd need to open at least 432 packs to pull every one. 1 out of 12 packs is a good pull rate but the variance is what makes them so rare and therefore expensive.

It only makes sense that English are more expensive than Japanese counterparts. It's about how hard it is to pull. For example, the JP booster box guarantees that you get 3 AR per box, and the JP set also only has 12 AR compared to English, like paldea evolved, which has 35 AR in the set.

I tell you a card to watch Garchomp V IR with Cynthia in it that card will rise and also keep an eye on that eevee I see that becoming the magikarp of its set and I feel this is the way it’s going now 1 card will just be massively inflated and will hold value longer than some think and in some cases go up 📈.

I don't get why you don't think arts can make the card worth more yes play ability does also boost the price I just don't understand why these cards would just not have a favor for these beautiful cards. I think most of these arts are gorgeous which is why I became a collector

Man i bought a Japanese eevee for 10$ cause i liked it then i bought 1 twilight masquerade pack and got the English which apparently is hitting 100$??.
Now I have both versions 😅
