I'm glad Bungie have now given another indication about the future. It won't fill everybody with confidence, but its better than total silence on the issue :P

I swear this company could be an absolute case study for every business college known to man.

They need to bring back ALL the content WE PAID FOR. Including Red War, Curse of Osiris, and Warmind.

They need to remember what made the franchise popular in the first place. Yes, some things have changed with time, but what always attracted players was 1. Obviously the top-tier gunplay and mechanics, 2. Authentic world building and lore, especially mysteries and puzzles for the community to dig into, 3. High end activities like raids and dungeons, and 4. The customizability of developing YOUR guardian. These are the 4 pillars of Destiny, the fundamentals. These are what attracted and kept players. If you can hit those notes and keep enough people invested, you don’t NEED to sell as many microtransactions, because revenue is spread across the playerbase. Like Mufasa said, they need to remember who they are. Remember, at one point a set of devs who had never worked on Destiny before made Destiny.

They need to let us know when they plan on placing a gravestone in place of Pete's desk. Until then I have feeling a lot of people won't care.

Multi-year plan: Keep the boat afloat.

What they need to do is bring back all the story content and locations they stole from us. Let players experience the full breadth of everything that led up to this (Red War, CoO, Warmind, All of the raids and planets like Io, Spire of Stars).

I have killed SO MANY Dregs, Minotaurs and Legionaries. That isn't a worthwhile reason to log on to the game.

I log on for new challenges and engaging stories. So long as Bungie is able to deliver that, I will play the game.

I am skeptical! Them sating the next few years destiny2 will continue as planned. But as we all know there were no more plans for lay offs but yet.. i hope the game recovers

I'm not saying the game will be shut down, but this statement doesn't mean much to me. A company I worked for in the past was bought out. They came in and told us all it wouldn't effect our jobs at all. 2 months later they closed the doors. No warning at all. They just wanted us to keep working hard until they didn't need us. Even if Destiny was going to shutdown in the future I doubt they will tell us now. They clearly have more content coming the rest of this year into next. No need to sway people from spending money now

Honestly, I don't think I care anymore

It would be amazing to see old locations like the Leviathan return in full glory. The nostalgia of revisiting places where you spent countless hours refining your builds and mastering encounters is unmatched. The Leviathan, with its sprawling design and unique atmosphere, was a perfect playground for testing and polishing gear. Bungie could consider reintroducing these classic areas, perhaps as part of a rotating playlist or even as an expanded mode where players can freely explore and experiment. The game size might be a concern, but for many, the value of reliving those experiences outweighs the storage cost. Here's hoping Bungie listens to the community on this!

Honestly, if we got two releases a year that primarily focus on gameplay, and they focus narrative resources into stuff like episodes to give them compelling story beats, I wouldn't mind that at all

More replayable stuff? What made Destiny special for me are the storys, the characters, the world, not grinding my time away.

At this point, I think the best move forward would be essentially a clean reset. Start development on Destiny 3, learn from the mistakes made during Destiny 1 and 2's lifespans, and hit the ground running from day 1. I don't see a way forward for Destiny 2 as it exists now. It'll just continue to dwindle and ultimately die. The best thing that can be done now is to ensure the entire franchise doesn't crash and burn with it.

As for the gameplay vs narrative aspect, part of what made Lightfall so poorly received was in fact the poor narrative. It had nothing to do with the gameplay, which people were loving. Grapple grenade had just come out as well as strand. But it was the story that caused it to be considered a failure by the players. So I don’t know if that argument holds any water when compared to recent history

They need to make the hall of champions a permanent part of the tower.

I much prefer dlc drops like d1 and vanilla d2. Periodic quality content drops is much better than constant mediocre content

For ten years, Bungie has been telling the same lie to the community that "we're listening, and prioritizing improving the experience" and this community continues to ignorantly eat it up.
How many classic cars does this community need to purchase before they finally realize that the developer does not care.?
