Downtown Kenosha just across the street from the Harbor is Villa D’Carlo, an old school traditional Italian restaurant and Pizzeria. This is such an amazing place to eat outside on the sidewalk, the patio with live entertainment on fridays, or inside as well. Carl’s pizza is a Calebrese “kenosha pizza” that has a thin crust which is crunchy and chewy. Cooked on the exact same stone ovens that made the pizza famous to begin with, and of course, corn meal.This Southern Italian food is just like Nana use to make it in so many Italian American households! Try lasagna and ravioli plus the anti pasta platter! You really can’t go wrong! Villa D'Carlo also holds such a special place in my heart (and tummy) - my family always put a pat of butter on this pizza when eating it and to this day, I do the same ONLY with this pizza. Everytime I am visiting Kenosha, I try to stop in! I remember getting Juicy Fruit stick gum from the glass case at the host/hostess station after eating at the restaurant when I was a kid. Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

I've had many pizzas over the years, but my #1 has always been Carl's. That's one of the things I miss the most about moving out of town. Their pizza is a treat!
