Experience this 20-minute, condensed Core Qigong class with Movement Guide, Steven Washington where he takes you through some of the fundamental mat Pilates exercises for increasing strength and flexibility in the hips, mobilizing the spine and building core strength.
In the Qigong section, the Monkey Movements develop agility and balance and encourage us to be more playful in our energy, outlook, and movement. The various acupressure exercises (for the low back, heart, gall bladder and belly) help to wake up and circulate energy in the body whilst relaxing Kidney Breathing generates energy in the body and stretches the lower back.
Core Qigong is a gentle fusion of Qigong and Pilates designed to ignite the body’s energy centers while bringing balance and calm to body, mind and spirit. Each full class begins with a Mindfulness Moment and short Dance Break followed by 30 minutes of Pilates and 30 minutes of Qigong before closing with a Mindful Meditation and live Q&A. Steven teaches the full 75-minute version of these classes live every week.
