Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has announced a R2 billion conditional grant to fund the rollout of smart prepaid meters, a bailout of R47 billion for Transnet, an increase in various categories of social grants, and R150 billion taken out of the R500 billion reserves to reduce the country's borrowing and debt-service costs.

These are some of the announcements made during the Budget Speech in Parliament, Cape Town, yesterday.

The speech, which sets out the government's spending priorities for the 2024/25 financial year, was received with mixed views as some said it managed to cover the important areas, while others say it missed an important opportunity to make a significant impact in addressing the country's challenges.

There's lots to be discussed as Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana joins us virtually this morning as we reflect on yesterday's budget speech.

The only thing that they care it's only people who are earning social grants, what about the people who are working, we are earning some peanuts while they say they are creating some works,

Why not give relief to tax payers or give a young individuals between 20 and 30 an opportunity in the form of a charity event, meant solely on giving our youth an opportunity to grow the country by beginning in their communities, creating jobs through experience and knowledge and a dash of wisdome... The faster the youth of the population can start importing money from travel and export, the quicker we grow as a country, the quicker we pay off the debt... Why try to mitigate, if you (as government system) are able to take lobying money, if you give double meanings, follow in the footsteps of the americans, then I wonder how much time we have before every human except the elite, falls in this war thats on its way... These self centered people have only one objective as a whole. Self preservation.... Be it money, family, food...excess of life becomes boring to all if they are trapped in a cycle...

Be safe everyone❤️

One way to keep the voting society voting for the ruling party is to keep them dependent on the state. Who do these fools think they are fooling.
