You know you have Bad advisors when they whisper to your ear to pretty much kill a family member of yours also the portrait scene is amazing in the beginning Ahmed saw Anastasia in a portrait and was curious about her while now Kosem is depressed because Ahmed is no longer and she doesn’t know what to do without him, scenes like theses explain Kosem fall to darkness eventually

Osman was going to be doomed with whichever decision he took: If he left Mehmed in the capital, they would've enthroned him with as soon as they got the opportunity to; if he took Mehmed with him there was a chance he would incite the Janissaries to revolt or they would use him if they are displeased with any of the Sultan's actions; and if he executed Mehmed, he would have security but become really unpopular and hated by many. Out of all, the last seems the best course of action, unfortunately
