You don't always need fancy saws, and power tools to work with metal. Even simple projects can be done with good scissors, tin-snips and - something a lot of engineers seem to have hardly ever heard of - NIBBLERS!

For relatively little cash, you can have use some great tools to speed up your prototyping, when plastic and card are not robust enough!

What thickness aluminium would the tin snips handle? I have a couple of ideas for projects coming up that will probably need 1mm and 2mm Aluminium sheets. I was going to use my jigsaw, but some of the stuff I want to do is quite small and intricate, and I feel it would be safer to use snips if they would be up to the job.

You don’t mention the names of these tools very well. I’d love to go buy the last one but you never say what it’s called.
