How to trim with beardtrimmer BT9000 Prestige

This video shows you how to trim with your Philips Beardtrimmer 9000 Prestige. The product is equipped with a built in metal comb, the Skin follower, for consistent trimming results. Use the zoom wheel to set the desired lenght setting for use with or without click-on comb.
1. Set the desired lenght with the zoom wheel. Use the white numbers without comb for shorter beards 0.4 to 5mm.
2. Click on the comb to selecte higher lenghts, 5.5 to 10mm, indicated above the zoom wheel in blue.
3. Hold the Skin Follower or comb flat on your skin and move against the grain.
4. Without comb, tilt to create lines.

Just purchased this today and I must say I'm impressed. Comes with nice case, easy to use and glides effortlessly over your face. For many years I've used either the vital sasoon, remington and wahl trimmers but this one is on another level of quality and ease of use.

Worth spending that little bit more cause this is a purchase that is justified.

Finally a replacement for my end-of-life QT4022. This BT9810 is excellent!

My QT4022 has been on the fritz for a long time, since I dropped it on a hard tile floor..about a year ago. I have been through three other trimmers (two Philips, one Panasonic) in the search and now I am looking forward to a long stint with this BT9810.

The QT had amazing precision with it's unguarded sharp end. In particular around the bottom of my nose: Most models these days have so much shielding that they cannot reach tight spots and leave a line of long hairs. (I trim down to around 2, 5-3mm). I know the shielding can often be removed, but then you lose the consistency of length.

The BT has the precision and beats the old QT on power and especially noise. It trims my beard without any tugging or complaining, and is commendably quiet.

I Just received it, tried it, sending it back. Not great without the guard when using it from the .4mm to 5mm for stubble. It left me with the most uneven stubble shave I ever had. I had to pull out my old shaver to clean it up and get it even again. The problem for me is that you have to keep the face Glide flat against your face - we don't have flat faces so going up the neck and around the chin and cheekbone areas was difficult and didn't even trim it the same length as the flat portions of the face. Trying to keep the glide flat as you went around the cheekbone, and the chin would lift the shaving part up higher. I also felt like if I didn't keep it exactly flat on the face then I would create fully shaved areas of the face so I wasn't too comfortable with that. Even in the video, you can see the Mustache and goatee area is longer than teh rest of teh face - I think it is hard to get a 2 - 3 mm even shave across the entire face with this product.

I'm not sure if it's mine that's defective but the power isn't really that great... I find myself having to go over the same area many many times before it's even!! This is the first time I used it - I put it on charge for 1.5 hours before using it for the first time as well.

How do you get neat lines without putting the dial back to 0.4mm as tilting the blade when any setting is set doesn't give a clean line as the guard is too far forward from the teeth??
