Personally I don't think it's important if the shroud is real or not. But I wouldn't dismiss it so quickly... it's interesting that the image burned on to the shroud produces a photographic negative. Technology that didnt exist in the time period its believed to be forged in.

So what would possess a highly talented yet somehow anonymous artist to produce photo negatives hundreds of years before the camera? Without the use of paint or dye I might add. And never attempt to take credit for their work. Not saying it's real but there are questions that come up if it isnt.

It's sad to see so much focus on disproving the religion. If you know what consciousness is you should know immortality is a potential that exists within it. How to accomplish it is another ability of consciousness. Until someone recognizes true intelligence, they can't perceive the supremacy of intelligent design. Intelligence has nothing to do with any organized religion. Though organizing is a display of intelligence. Consciousness has a source and a potential. To know the potential it must acknowledge its contingent nature in existence, in this it should begin to seek its source and form a conscious bond to be sustained and develop from state to state of awareness.
