Something tells me there may have been some overlooked details on that last part.

Makes you wonder if all those people who “died peacefully in their sleep” were having a nightmare at the time.

A saw this movie in the theater the day it came out. Later that night when I got home got into bed and turned the lights off. Immediately I saw Freddy and screamed. It was the moonlight casting a shadow of my coat rack that had my hat at the top of the rack. I was truly freaked, laughed and went to bed. Needless to say, never forgot that night. Thanks Freddy!

That surprise at the end of the first movie really got me as a kid, right up there with the jump surprise at the end of "Phantasm".

As i recall, New Line Cinema wasn't even originally a film production company but started off as a distribution company for films and film related equipment. They gambled on making movies with this being a big success.

Bedtime Stories covered the Asian Death Syndrome cases. Very interesting, especially the account of one of the individuals who survived it.

It was said that Wes Craven based the character of Freddy Krueger on a man who lived on his neighborhood who had worn a fedora and looked in on him and his brother through the bedroom window of their house when he was a kid.

Yep and it's one of the best horror scenes ever I don't know between the death scene with Johnny Depp or the death scene with Kevin Bacon in Friday the 13th I can't really decide but I think this one tops the Kevin Bacon one

Yes, I knew all 3 of these. I'm a big fan of this franchise. I own the box set on d. V. D just like I'm a big fan Friday, the 13th.

The second one is interesting to me bc I’ve always said anytime I see the new line cinema logo I automatically think of Freddy lol

I always forget the first movie was a legitimate horror film.

Johnny Depp was actually only there to support his friend Jackie Earle Haley, who was auditioning for the role of Glenn. Depp was seen by Craven's daughter, who thought Depp was cute. Depp got the role of Glenn. And decades later, Jackie Earle Haley got the role of Freddy....

In my opinion, and I love horror, this is the best original movie at of all the slasher franchises hands down

I’m not really into horror all that much but this one’s a classic out of all the so-called slasher film genres this one’s the best. The other ones the Halloween the Friday the 13th those movies yeah they’re scary but the bad guys have no personality. They wear a mask they’re silence they go around. They kill the teenagers and they walk away and go towards the next victim. There’s no Personality like Freddy Krueger. I think that’s why he’s so popular because people loved his personality. He had a flare that even though it was terrifying it was fun. You know what I mean anyway I hope I don’t come across crazy saying that but seriously it really is a good movie

Honestly the aesthetic of this movie is what’s molded my tastes. That gritty grainy VHS look lol… I actually have painted Freddy and tattooed him many times over, one of thee hardest characters to paint and tattoo, professionally. Sounded corny af. Yuck.
