Toni deserves to be recognized for what she is... one of the greats. Everything she is in, she's insanely good in and I feel like she's finally getting the widespread recognition she's always deserved, but she deserves even MORE. I'll watch anything with her in it

If you are planning to watch this, I would recommend you watch the 2004 “The Staircase” (alternatively called “Death on the Staircase”) on Netflix first. It’s the actual documentary of this case. It shows the case leading up to the trial, the actual trial and then also what happened after (with bonus episodes added in 2018). This case is so complicated, and I still don’t know what to believe, but the documentary is spectacular.
Also, Colin Firth’s voice sounds EXACTLY like Micheal Peterson’s in this, it’s insane.

Btw I just have to say how much I loved Collette in Knives Out. She made every line sing. And that scene where she's trying to get Jami Lee Curtis to dance was made 100xs funnier in Collete's hands.😂😂She's so clever and original!

Toni Collette is fantastic. Well before "The Sixth Sense" & '"About A Boy", Toni's work was promising during her early career in Australian films like "Cosi", "The Boys" and "Muriel's Wedding". She won a Golden Globe for the latter and it was the film that brought her attention to Hollywood, as it was a big foreign crossover hit in the U.S.

I remember seeing Toni Collette in Velvet Goldmine, a fabulous disaster of a movie with brilliant actors -- Ewan McGregor, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Christian Bale -- and as amazing as they were and are, they were like amateurs next to her. I guess I could compare her to Val Kilmer's performance in Tombstone. Everyone was good, but he was...something else. He WAS Doc Holliday. Everyone in Velvet Goldmine was good, but she WAS Mandy Slade.

I knew right then and there from the moment she came on screen I was watching one of the best actors I had ever had the honor to see perform.

I found out later that Jonathan Rhys Meyers fell in love with her while making the film and they were a couple for a few years afterwards, that lucky bastard! Some guys get all the luck!
