The top-ranked Hopkins girls basketball team was challenged early but pulled away for a 66-43 win over Lakeville North in the state class AAAA quarterfinals Wednesday morning at Williams Arena.
Liv McGill keyed a late first half surge to push the Royals’ lead to 28-14 at halftime. McGill finished with 20 points, with Taylor Woodson adding 14 and Amaya Battle 13. Hopkins meets White Bear Lake in the semifinals Thursday evening.
