As a Californian, I find it hilarious that this song is more well known being the national anthem of a fictional nation than it being our actual state anthem.

For those that dont seem to be aware, it is also the Official State Anthem, but is rarely employed as it...I think last time it was formally played was on Ronald Reagan Gubernatorial Inaguration and also His Presidential Inaguration(Funny enough He was not aware it is a State Song.) most people in the States are not aware their States have Official Songs(except West Virginia where is played a lot, Take Me Home Country Roads) also all US territories have Regional Songs the most famous being the Puerto Rican Anthem and the USVI anthem.

The show never actually confirmed wether the republic fully died.
The capitol got nuked so yea I am guesing there is a massive power strugle.

But I am of the believe the NCR is still alive and going through a period of unifying once more.
The group from the show is merly one group of a bigger conflict. Which I pray wil be explained further in season 2
